University of Florida Delta Gamma video a sign of the times
Late last year, several members of the Delta Gamma sorority at the University of Florida released a rendition of "I'm on a Boat" on Youtube. In the video, they call out other sororities on campus and mock them publicly. Of course, once the higher ups in Gainesville found out about this little video making its rounds on the web, it was quickly pulled and they were giving a huge tongue lashing. But, really, what do these adults really expect out of kids today?
Yes, there a bunch of curse words. Girls don't curse, uh- yeah, right! The younger generation has grown up with this MTV mentality about showing up everyone, thinking they are better than they really are, and some damn stupid sense of entitlement. Don't won't to a damn lick of work. Not a thing. Texting, playing on the computer, and doing anything to goof off in the workplace has replaced the good old fashioned values of hard work that people used to have. The thing is, you can't just pin this on the Delta Gamma's at UF. This is everywhere. I'm sure FSU students have done the same, just they were a little brighter not to broadcast their vulgar tirade to the rest of the world.
But back to the original topic. Why are Delta Gamma's being punished for a video at UF when nearly the rest of the world uses just the same amount of language and most are just as egotistical and driven by some stupid sense of false entitlement. They're just doing what everyone else is doing. Showing up everyone is supposed to be cool in today's world. Athletes do it at will in almost every major sporting event, in nearly every arena. Just look at Tim Tebow acting like a complete assclown trying to show up his opponents. There are others too who act like complete fools. But seriously, bitching and complaining because a bunch of sorority girls used a bunch of foul language. C'mon, get with the times. Then again, the generations that came before them really weren't that much better. Riots on campus during the Vietnam War. They did just as much drugs if not worse during the 1970's. I can go on and on, but as far as the moral fiber in America, well, it died a hell of a long time ago.
Hey, you really can't blame the DG's, there just doing what the rest of the world has glorified for years. Don't be appalled, our society set these rules. They're just simply playing the game right along everyone else.
