Keep Drilling in the Gulf and offshore, everywhere in the USA!

Do we stop all air travel when a plane crashes?
Do we stop all cars on the roads when their is a crash?
When a FedEx or UPS truck is involved in an accident on the roadways, do we go ahead and stop all packages from being shipped?
If an athlete suffers an injury during competition, do we halt all sports?

Absolutely not, because it is the asinine, unreasonable thing to do.  It's the same thing with drilling offshore.  Yes, the accident on April 20th was bad, however, we can't let one thing disrupt a major advance in our quest for lower energy prices.  Americans need to demand that we continue to let companies drill offshore.  We can't depend upon foreign centers for our dependence on energy.  We need oil.  We need oil for our gasoline for our cars. If you want to keep making everyone else rich, we can keep importing oil. However, if you want to make our country rich for a change, lets demand that we find our resources here at home for a change.

Stopping all drilling offshore is the same thing as halting all air travel after one airplane accident.  Sure, it would save lives if the planes never crashed. However, we would lose billions in the infrastructure of this country if we could not get things done by air.  Imagine no overnight parcel because of a ban on planes.  Imagine having to drive from coast to coast for days instead of taking hours to move about through the air.  The benefits of air travel far outweigh the chances of a cost of an accident.  True, you can't stop accidents.  Things are going to go wrong.  Get used to it, nothing ever goes perfect all the damn time.  Never has and it never will.

Imagine if you couldn't drive your car because they were banned due to accidents on the roadways.  Perish the thought if you had to walk for miles just to get to a destination you need to be.  Could you imagine if companies like FedEx and UPS had to use alternate methods other than trucks, trailers, and planes to get your valuable packages from point A to B? It would be unfeasable.

Same thing with drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore.  One accident shouldn't prevent companies in this country removing our dependence from foreign oil.  Letting the decision of a minor cost outweigh the benefits is a foolish mistake for which we will all pay for a very long time.
