Just say HELL NO to any debt limit increase in Washington
That's right, I said HELL NO to any debt limit increase in Washington. The days of our government getting to raise their own credit card limit must end right now. No more of this fiscal irresponsibility crap in Washington. If I have to balance my budget, then by damn so should the federal government. I could care less if the nation defaults next week. The time has come that the US Government learns to actually live within their means. If they can't, I would suggest they pick up the phone and call Dave Ramsey. I still hold both sides responsible for this mess, though. Republicans are not blameless. Damn sure Democrats are not either. Starting in 2011, changes must be made to ensure the greater well-being for all present and future Americans. There are several key points that must be addressed over this fight in Washington:
1. There must be a balanced budget amendment added to the Constitution. No other way to say this than the government should be forced by law to live within their means. If that means you cut entitlement programs to make that goal, then by damn, so be it. I'm paying taxes for this stuff for which I will most likely never see a dime. If social security is failing and it can't be revived, then sorry it was not meant to be. The same goes for Medicare and Medicaid. If they can't be funded, then let the damn things go. Not only that, but someone has to draw a line in the sand. The nation is accruing more debt that it can handle. If not now, there will never be a time to finally get some damn fiscal sanity in America. The Republicans must hold firm this week. A balanced budget amendment is critical.
2. There must be spending cuts over the next couple of decades. The amount of debt must be reduced. Enough is enough. You don't borrow more money just to keep spending on all these useless programs which aren't doing a bit of good. All foreign aid must be cut. To hell with the rest of the world. Pay your damn bills. Famine in Africa, sorry my tax dollars shouldn't be going to a bunch of future terrorists who are taking up arms and killing innocent American citizens both domestic and abroad. And we goddamn sure should never be giving foreign aid to governments who are aiding and assisting terrorist organizations. Welfare programs must be eliminated. Obama did the first good thing of his presidency by jettisoning the space shuttle program. No more need for space exploration. If you want, let the private companies compete for the right of that technology. God knows they could do a much better job than the government anyways. He must cut more programs. Also, get rid of this nationalized healthcare bullshit. Complete waste of money. Just cut spending to reflect what the actual percentage of real revenues are. Stop borrowing more money. No more, EVER! The Republicans are in the right on this side of the equation and the Democrats have their heads shoved up their ass regarding this issue.
3. No more tax loopholes for the rich. The Democrats are in the right and the Tea Party is completely out of line on this issue. Sorry, if I have to pay taxes, then by damn so should all those who are making way more than I am. Spare me this crap of how you all give everyone jobs, we all know better. You're just keeping the difference and laughing in everyone's face. All Bush era tax cuts must be immediately reversed. But, on the flip side, there must be some equity in the scenario. The tax code must be fair, thus the tax should be the same percentage of income for the rich as it is the poor. Fairness and equality are a must. Democrats and liberals can kiss my ass if they think jacking someone 70% of their income is fair while one only gets less than 10%. Make it 15% straight across the board. No more sliding scale.
4. Since it is quite obvious not a single damn politician in Washington has any sense about how to actual balance a budget, please call Dave Ramsey. I would recommend you bring him to Washington. Not a pitch for the guy, but my God, I have respect for any man that can make a fortune twice, and even more respect after he pissed it all away the first time. I hold the man in high regard. I've learned to live within my means and stop spending beyond what I could afford. 'Bout damn time my government officials do the same.
