Seminoles 21, Gators 7
Seminoles drain the Swamp for the first time since 2003
Ah, what a great Saturday in Gainesville. Yours truly spent the day tailgating, drinking, watching the Seminoles basketball team fall short and cursing at a TV at some bar. But most importantly, it ended with the Seminoles beating down the Gators for the second year in a row. This time, I got to watch the Seminoles dismantle the Gators in Gainesville instead of the friendly confines of Doak. After drinking and watching some football, the game in the Swamp went as I expected. All defense and no damn offense to speak of, really! All Seminole fans around the world would like to thank the Gator offense for all those idiotic turnovers that gave FSU all of their points. Thank you John Brantley. You will be truly missed by all Noles. But most importantly, thank you again to the FSU defense. Damn, for the second year in a row you completely dominated the inept Gator offense. If we just would have had an elite level offense this year, we would be playing for something much more than just bragging rights....
Now, I must say the Gator fans were much more tame this year. I guess sucking at 6-5 leaves all the bandwagon asshats home. Saw a fight or two, but not much else. Plenty of drinking and tailgating. Nothing better though than Gator fans leaving in the 2nd quarter. Yes, the second quarter. Poor bastards knew that game was over when FSU went up 14-0. They knew they had no shot in hell after that second TD. After Parks housed the pick in the 4th with 13 minutes to go, Gator fans headed for the exits en masse as the scoreboard read 21-0. The only thing that prevented the Gators being shutout for the first time since 1988 was Jermaine Thomas fumbling the damn ball with about five minutes left in the game. Oh well, Jermaine, you were a hell of a player here and you will be missed. Shawn Powell, Mike Harris - you will be dearly missed next season.
So after a six year period of domination by UF against FSU, the tide has turned, and in a hurry. No longer the mighty Gators playing for national titles, instead a bunch of toothless inept reptiles lucky to be even heading to a bowl game this year. Two years removed from nearly winning a third title in a four year span, the Gators look so bad that it may not be a while before they're good again. Foley doesn't look so great now. Meyer bolted for health reasons, well, more like he got his ass kicked by FSU and couldn't face the music. Now, he manages to coach Ohio State after a one-year hiatus. Health concerns, yeah right Urban Liar. Man up and admit you got your ass kicked inside and out by Bama and FSU and couldn't deal with reality. Now the Gators are left to rebuild, and FSU is playing the reversal of roles from just six years ago when the teams were going in opposite directions. And to add insult to wounds for the poor Gators, they most likely will be paired with Ohio State in the Gator Bowl. Took their best coach in history and may take their manhood too....
By the way, did somebody hire Jeff Bowden to coach the Gator offense? That game reminded me of 2006 when FSU was so damn bad on offense we could barely score points against any team at all. Charlie Weis ripped you guys off. Hey, us Noles told you so, though. Poor Muschamp, should have never left Texas. Got handed a raw deal. Meyer screwed him royally. Oh well, you still coach my rival team. Better luck down the road with a new team...
But hey, don't sweat Gator fans. Misery loves company. Just ask those down in Coral Gables. They could use some about now after losing to Boston College in their home finale. Boston College, worse than the Gators, beat Miami's ass the day before FSU whooped UF again. 6-6 for both of you. Unless UF makes the Gator Bowl this year. Then it's the first losing season for UF since before Spurrier took over the helm in 1990. That by the way is before most current UF students were born. Chomp on that, Gators.
