Thanks ACC, your greed screwed everyone

Thank you John Swofford and your Tobacco Road cronies up there in North Carolina. Thank you for screwing Florida State's 2012 football schedule up big time. Everything was fine when the league was at 12 teams. Except you had to mess everything up by expanding to 14 teams. Nothing against Syracuse or Pittsburgh, but the league was fine at 12 teams. The greed shown by your office in expansion is ruining college sports on a national landscape. Had you not stolen Pitt and Syracuse from the Big East, I can guarantee you that West Virginia does not bolt for the Big 12. Since the damn hillbillies bolted, they decided they could spit in the face of the Seminole nation and break a contract that had them coming to Tallahassee next fall. Now Florida State is left scrambling at the last damn minute to find a replacement. You want a 2012 football schedule? Well, you're the reason we don't have one.

This pure greed dates back to 2003 when the ACC went behind the backs of everyone and stole away Miami and Virginia Tech from the Big East. This treachery extended further when Boston College knifed their conference in the back and hauled ass to Tobacco Road empire league. You set in motion the idea that no one has to honor their agreements anymore. Now teams just flip their middle finger at conference arrangements and jump when the hell they feel like. No way does the Big 12 nearly die in 2010 if not for the treachery of Miami, Virginia Tech, and Boston College shooting the bird to the Big East. No one gives a damn about agreements now. They can be broken at a whim. As for anyone foolish enough to believe that Florida State benefitted from expansion, well, now their eyes can be opened. I was against expansion from day one. Never liked the idea of stealing teams from other conferences. Opened up a huge can of worms. But, after time, I learned to live with the idea of 12 teams. It made sense. But 14 just doesn't make good sense, and 16 is flat too damn many. Yet, the ACC cronies just can't stop with their greedy moves. I fully expect that two more teams will be poached from rival conferences in the near future.

Football non-conference games will go the way of rent-a-wins with the expanded league schedule. Basketball will get worse with more league games. Now, we'll see less of the great non-conference matchups that used to dot the early schedules. Twelve teams was just fine, ACC cronies. Thanks again for screwing everything up. I know the Big East holds bitterness, and they should. Granted they are getting new teams for the 2013 season, but with their additions of teams in Idaho and California, sorry you can't really call yourselves the Big East anymore. Not when you've got teams in the Big West.

The only good thing that comes of the greed of the ACC is that USF and UCF will finally have to renew their rivalry once again. Living in Florida, I like to see these type of games with the passion these schools have for each other, well more like hatred, but I digress. I know those in Houston disagree with me, since they're back in the BCS league now. I know their friends in the CUSA aren't too happy about this domino effect. The Big 12 is happy to have stolen West Virginia. Fine, add two more teams and call yourselves the actual Big 12, not Big 10 with 12 teams. Someone should tell the Big 10 they have 12 teams now. Maybe they should switch names and call it a day.

It is what it is, Syracuse and Pittsburgh are coming to the ACC. The dominoes have already fallen all over the land. Thanks, ACC brass, for screwing it up for everyone, including FSU. Now, make it up to us with a favorable 2012 football schedule and we can at least amend some of this!
